About
Hi, I’m Ami, Founder of The Collar Club.
My journey into professional pet care was largely influenced by a rescue dog called Martha. I met Martha while working for the RSPCA and began fostering her while she waited for a forever home. The plan was simple: help her find the perfect family. Instead, I became her family.
Like many rescue dogs, Martha came with challenges. She was reactive with other dogs; barking, lunging & fixating. We worked hard to channel that energy in other ways. With patience & consistency she grew in confidence. We saw the challenges ease & become more manageable day to day. Watching that transformation was pure magic; rewarding just doesn’t do it justice. She taught me lessons that no textbook ever could. I also recognised how hard it is to leave a reactive pet, with complex needs and an ongoing training plan.
"My goal is to always make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own familiar environment, giving owners peace of mind knowing their pets are in safe and experienced hands."
My passion for animals started long before Martha, though. I was brought up caring for various animals (mostly rescue). Our family dog sparked a love of animals that never left me. I’ve had various careers in the past but I naturally felt drawn to animal care and welfare and kept coming back to it. Over the years, I gained hands-on experience in grooming salons, kennels, and veterinary settings, working with animals of all ages, breeds, personalities, and temperaments. That passion eventually led to becoming an animal care assistant with the RSPCA, where I developed a deeper understanding of animal welfare, behaviour, and compassionate care. Learning from professionals, and understanding that great pet care is about patience, trust and attention to detail.
The Collar Club was built from that belief.
"I understand that inviting someone to care for your pet is a huge act of trust; I’ve been that owner too."
Whether your pet thrives on routine, needs a little extra patience, or simply loves having company while you’re away, my goal is always to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own familiar environment, giving owners peace of mind knowing their pets are in safe and experienced hands.
I provide dog walking, pet sitting, and drop-in visits across Gorleston-on-Sea and the surrounding areas. Every service is built around the same values that shaped my journey with Martha; patience, trust, kindness, and putting the animal’s needs first. For me, this isn’t just a business, it’s the privilege of spending my days caring for animals and building lasting relationships with the pets and people I meet along the way.
I look forward to working and walking with you!
